Sv. Marjeta s skednjem in hišo (mežnarijo) v vasi Žlebe, Sv. Katarina z župniščem v vasi Topol ter Domačija Pr’Lenart v vasi Belo. Vse tri lokacije so spomeniško zaščitene.
→ Razstavljajoče avtorje nagovarjamo k razvoju v smer instalativnosti. V ustvarjalnih dialogih posebno pozornost namenjamo subtilni in osmišljeni umestitvi likovnih del v kontekste kulturne in naravne dediščine.

→ Modern artistic works are embedded in the spaces of cultural heritage that is bound to habitats of the nature park of Polhov gradec Dolomites. St. Marjeta with the barn and the house (the sexton’s house) in the village of Žlebe, St. Katarina with the presbytery in the village of Topol, and the homestead Pr’Lenart in the village of Belo. All three locations are listed as World Heritage sites. They are connected by a beautiful moderate hiking trail, appropriate for individuals as well as families, that can be excellent inspiration to spend a culturally and recreationally versatile day of your holiday.
→ The project connects the city with its periphery, while openning up artistic space to people who otherwise would hardly cross the threshold of a gallery or visit an exhibition or participate at modern artistic production. We create new publics of modern artistic practices.
→ The project offers the seeing of the exhibited works, socialising, conversations, contemplation, interactions…
→ The exhibiting authors are encouraged to develop in the direction of installation art. Our creative dialogues devote special attention to subtle and sensible placement of artistic works in the contexts of cultural and natural heritage. We wish that artists spend as much time as possible at the location of the exhibition for the exhibited works and their placement in space as well as their ways of communicating with publics to be created from the inspiration coming from the encounters with the space (genius loci) as well as with other authors and visitors.
→ We pay special attention to communal artistic works with expressedly social engagement, as in the age of globalisation artists are increasingly realising themselves in wider creative space rather than narrowly artistic fields. We are primarily striving to create a better society, with the direct inclusion of artists and art in communal activities and different social structures.
→ Since all three locations are near Ljubljana (at the distance of some 15 km) our future research orientation will involve »capturing« the public from this area, so that apart from the accidental public and the visitors who deliberate come to see the exhibition, we would attract more people who would plan the visit through the tourist offer of Ljubljana and Medvode. Foreign tourists who came across the exhibition accidentally were enthusiastic about the connection between cultural heritage and modern art sunk in the lap of the intact nature. Based on past experience we wish to prepare a programme particularly for this group of people, which tourist workers would launch as a good choice for discovering the direct surroundings of the city; even more so considering the fact that the center of Ljubljana is becoming oversaturated.
→ So far, cca. 600 visitors came to see the exhibition each year during its two-week opening. Our visitors come from everywhere; from a wide variety of places around Slovenia, and from Jordan, China, Germany, the USA, Japan, Italy, Croatia, France…
→ House on the Hill is also a cultural and social event. Standing out is the opening of the exhibition with a special cultural and artistic programme created just for the occasion, when also the largest number – amounting to over one hundred – visitors come to the house at one time.
→ While most of artistic residences and events take place in the cities, in the urban environment, we connect modern art with nature in a new way, pacify and deepening it in the process, thus creating the environment for a different, fuller and subtler flow between the public and artistic works.
→ We create a welcoming space for meetings, conversations, quests …, space that can also be a haven. House on the Hill is becoming a living social installation, nurturing the dimension of art as a listener, a confessor, a friend…
